An Intelligence Riddle
George W. Bush meets with the Queen of England.
He asks her, “Your Majesty, how do you run such an efficient government?
Are there any tips you can give me?”
“Well,” says the Queen, “the most important thing is to surround
yourself with intelligent people.”
Bush frowns. “But how do I know the people around me are really
intelligent?”
The Queen takes a sip of tea. “Oh, that’s easy. You just ask them to
answer an intelligence riddle.”
The Queen pushes a button on her intercom. “Please send Tony Blair in
here, would you?”
Tony Blair walks into the room. “Yes, Your Majesty?”
The Queen smiles. “Answer me this, please, Tony. Your mother and father
have a child. It is not your brother and it is not your sister. Who is
it?”
Without pausing for a moment, Tony Blair answers, “That would be me.”
“Yes! Very good,” says the Queen.
Back at the White House, Bush asks to speak with vce president Dick
Cheney.
“Dick, answer this for me. Your mother and your father have a child.
It’s not your brother and it’s not your sister. Who is it?”
“I’m not sure,” says the vice president. “Let me get back to you on that
one.” Dick Cheney goes to his advisors and asks every one, but none can
give him an answer. Finally, he ends up in the men’s room and recognizes
Colin Powell’s shoes in the next stall.
Dick shouts, “Colin! Can you answer this for me? Your mother &father
have a child and it’s not your brother or your sister. Who is it?”
Colin Powell yells back, “That’s easy. It’s me!” Dick Cheney smiles.
“Thanks!”
Cheney goes back to the Oval Office to speak with Bush.
“Say, I did some research and I have the answer to that riddle. It’s
Colin Powell.”
Bush gets up, stomps over to Dick Cheney, and angrily yells into his
face, “No, you idiot! It’s Tony Blair!
Spare a thought to thwarting ThWART!
The Isle of Wight is a lovely place, but it’s residents are largely old and set in their ways, it has often been seen as the perfect sight for wind turbine development, something that would help our country get off its addiction to foreign gas and oil, and also add a new aspect to the beauty and reputation of the Island.
Unfortunately for too long the older residents of the Island have been able to voice their backwards opinions at meetings and to our local paper, the County Press, making it seem like the entire island hates the concept, now I don’t know about you, but every young person I’ve talked to would love to have wind turbines on the Island, and the same goes for me.
The existing anti-turbine group on the island is called ThWART (The Wight Against Rural Turbines), and has gained way too much publicity for it’s few members, and finally an Island born initiative for the young and pro-Island turbine people has reared its head! The group is called ‘Thwart ThWART’ but run by the Island Turbine Action Group and was started by one of my friends on Facebook, and is rapidly gaining membership!
Please join (even if you’re not an islander!) and see if you can help! The group can be found here or search for “Thwart ThWART” on Facebook.
Also, even if you’re not on Facebook, you can sign the teams petition to Number 10 here. Don’t forget to check your e-mail to confirm! Thanks!
A Brighter Day will Come
I do listen to Adam Curry who says that it doesn’t matter who anyone votes for in the U.S. election, because we’re all screwed anyway, but I’m certainly of the opinion that Obama is going to make the best of the two candidates. This vid is a great example of design and typography too so, enjoy:

Clinton’s Law of Politics…
Awesome.
Presidential Campaign Poll: Who won?
Well we are several months away from knowing who will win the election, and the respective parties haven’t even finalised who is their candidate. However I have dared to ask the impossible question, who do the amazing audience of this website think should be the next president of the United States of America?
And you didn’t disappoint.
This was very interesting, as we had many votes varying from party to party. The winner was Barack Obama, as you can see, he had my vote.
One vote below hoever, Ron Paul proved to be everyone’s favourite grand-pa with his libertarianism, which you know is pretty inspiring, but still, has he got much of a chance? No offense.
The last few days saw stragglers votes with Hillary Clinton getting one vote and then, strangely, perhaps, Huckabee getting a vote today. All I can say is wow. If McCain becomes president, we didn’t see it coming.
Thanks so much for voting, and we will have a new poll later today!
America Reshuffled
Well well well, finally some moves on the American frontier, a move to democratic government, that’s good. Donald Rumsfeld resigned, that’s also good, hopefully this means war in Iran is very unlikely, Syria too, fingers crossed. I don’t think Fox News will be happy but do they really matter? Not really. George Bush resigned, that’s excellent, oop, not quite oh well.
Back to home, my mate got his license about 4 weeks ago, and his mini 2 weeks ago, and well, 1 week ago he crashed his mini on a corner, “d’oh!” well he’s fine, but the mini it’s touch and go, we all sencerly hope “Daisy” will make a full recovery, but we’ll have to wait and see. Updates will be provided here as always on Darran24.
Heck thats a good name for a blog, don’t you think?
