The sad truth about internet television…

By the way, Film Riot, is pretty amazing.

MTV goes back to basics.

MTV International / Mister Furry from Universal Everything on Vimeo.

MTV has undergone a fantastic new rebrand, going back to it’s old monochrome logo for international audiences. But most interesting to me is the fantastic new idents, like the one above, produced by Universal Everything.

Video: Bill O’Reilly’s Meltdown!

Warning, Swearing in the vid below, but I found it funny.

Just in case you didn’t get my O’Reilly reference the other day, this is the nutjob going, well nuts on his old TV show:

F*** it, we’ll do it live!

Update: Replaced the video with a working version, though it may go down again.

O’REILLY? FOX Picks up The Colbert Report in the UK

Everyone loves Comedy Central’s The Colbert Report, recently awarded a Webby Award, the brilliant punditry parody of the Fox News Channel’s O’Reilly Factor is loved by many, but for far too long it has not been broadcast in the UK.

The Daily Show, presented by Colbert’s ex-boss Jon Stewart has been aired on More4 since 2005, but no love has been shown for Colbert here. Until now, but be prepared to be shocked, as the network that will broadcast Colbert’s comedic genius will be none other than FX, Fox’s very own UK entertainment channel. I can only hope they wont cut out all the Fox News jabs – there’d be no show!

As I don’t have a TV I will be continuing to watch Colbert on his brilliant website, but for those who have televisions, you’ll now get your Colbert fix… from Fox.

Lack of a Television

I lack a television. A few years ago, I’m sure, this would be ridiculous for someone like me, so in love with entertainment to force myself to go without a television. There are a few simple reasons why I didn’t, which follow.

  1. The Television licence is like £130, and I’m not the type to try and get away with it
  2. Most of what’s on TV is crap that I don’t watch
  3. I can’t schedule myself for anything, I missed most everything I like when I was at home.
  4. Most of the TV I do like is on Sky, which I can’t get in student accommodation, and is a stupid luxury I really can’t afford.
  5. I have a laptop, and I get a lot of entertainment from it.
